But now it is no more a privilege, it is rather a necessity everyone deserves. K.V. degree college, Kantabanji has evolved from the long-standing demand of the people of this region. It was established in the year 1989 by the noble initiative of the intelligentsia and the general public of this region.
I must say our college has been doing an excellent job by providing quality education to the students who otherwise would have remained deprived of higher education. We prepare our students through scholastic and co-scholastic activities to successfully face the competition at every level. That precisely is the reason we have a galaxy of illustrious alumni across the nation.
For a conducive academic ambience, a healthy teacher-student relationship is essential. I am proud to say that we strike absolute harmony between teachers and students.
Our effort has been to provide an enabling and conducive atmosphere for the students so that they express their creativity in an environment of freedom. So we give equal importance to both classroom and off-the-classroom activities.

K.V. College, Kantabanji in the district of Bolangir, I would say, was the need of the hour. Established in 1989, in this otherwise backward region of the state, this has well catered to the need of higher education. Since its establishment it has always strived for excellence in respect of providing quality education to its students. We are proud to always have a doggedly committed Principal and dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff. That precisely has been the key of our progress.
Many students having passed out from this school have been pursuing higher education in reputed institutions and many have excelled in their professional career. They are the real brand ambassadors of this institution.
Managing a private institution is a real challenge these days. Balancing parents’ expectation, infrastructural need, giving the best education to the students have emerged as a challenge for us. We as a team face this challenge successfully and that is our real strength.
Over the years we have left no stone unturned to upgrade to cope up with the need and aspirations of students and parents. It is my privilege to announce that during my tenure we have opened up science at undergraduate level and post graduation in Commerce and Odia.
I do admit, we have dearth of resources and inadequate infrastructure. But giving the best to the most with the least has been our motto.
